FNPA Research Applications

The FNPA has utility for use in school applications as well as for clinical applications. Examples of prominent foundational work in these areas are summarized below

• School Applications: Dr. Welk, Dr. Bailey Davis and Dr. Peyer conducted a 2 year NIH-funded research project to evaluate the utility of incorporating the FNPA as part of school-based BMI Screening.
• Clinical Applications: Dr. Bailey-Davis has led the clinical integration of the FNPA within the Geisinger Health System and is currently leading a randomized controlled trial funded by PCORI to test the utility for enhancing pediatric counseling and guidance.
